Securing Your WiFi Router With RFID

  • RFID enabled WiFi routers with a built in NFC reader to verify who’s using the router and who is allowed access access to WLAN network of a particular location where the router is located.

  • The RFID chip would be programmed with a private key to match with the corresponding public key on the RFID enabled WiFi router to allow full access to the internet and devices that connect to router.

  • The whole purpose of this is security through isolation. Where the end user can walk out of there house with all there IoT devices connected to there WiFi router. Then a program written into the router turns off all connections to internet when nobody is home and everything that connects wirelessly goes into standby mode until end user returns home.

  • This model could apply to a plethora of other wireless access models in theory.
